A nail salon in Slovakia

Slovakia attracts specialists from all fields of activity, and manicurists are no exception. In almost every country, women take care of their hands, and if you are a good master, you will definitely not lack clients.
Many who successfully develop their manicure business in their homeland, or work as a specialist in a salon, dream of earning more doing the same work. In Europe, this can be implemented, since the average check for a manicure master from one client is 30 euros, and for a pedicure procedure – 50-60 euros, but you can set your price, focusing on competitors in the city where you will develop your business.
Having developed a customer base, you can secure a stable monthly income and develop in this direction. After a while, you can hire more employees, or take the masters on a joint lease. There are enough options for the development of a manicure business in Slovakia, all that remains is to open it.

Stages of opening a manicure salon in Slovakia

As we wrote earlier, there are 5 important stages, which we describe in more detail.
STAGE 1. Status of an individual entrepreneur
To open your own business, you should choose its form, and in this case, an individual entrepreneur is the best solution. One of the reasons is the opportunity to obtain a residence permit in Slovakia without any problems. Obtaining the status of an individual entrepreneur also gives you another bonus – the opportunity to legally work in the Schengen area, which is very important if you suddenly decide to change the country for a while.

To successfully register, you need to collect a package of documents that are submitted along with the application. It includes the following papers:
1. Confirmation of the absence of criminal records, mandatory with an apostille.
2. A legal address in Slovakia.
3. An application for registration of an individual entrepreneur, which is submitted to local authorities.
It will take 1 week and 350 euros to register an individual entrepreneur, and the status of a private entrepreneur will be yours. Personal presence in the country is not required for registration, all documents can be collected and submitted remotely. Contact our specialists to find out the details of how to go through the process of registering an individual entrepreneur remotely or while staying in Slovakia.
STAGE 2. Get a residence permit in Slovakia
An important and desirable stage for many is obtaining a temporary residence permit in Slovakia. Based on the fact that you are registered as an individual entrepreneur, you won’t have any difficulties in obtaining a residence permit, you will only need to provide a complete package of documents for this. The cost of obtaining a residence permit in Slovakia is 1250 euros. You can get it both remotely and while staying in the country. The full package of documents must be submitted to the immigration police, and they must be translated into Slovak. Also, they can be submitted to the Consulate of Slovakia in your country.
STAGE 3. Professional courses certificate
The rules are such that before you start your activity in the field of manicure in Slovakia, you have to complete a professional course for a manicurist and obtain an appropriate certificate confirming your qualifications. Even if you previously studied in your country, these diplomas may not be accepted in Slovakia.
If you don’t have this certificate, you won’t be able to engage in business activities, as it must be submitted to the state registrar.
The course costs an average of 400 euros, duration 2 weeks. After completing the courses, you will be issued a certificate, and you will be able to open your own manicure salon.
STAGE 4. Rent of premises
To open your studio, you need to have a premise. In Slovakia, it is strictly forbidden to provide manicure services at home and in any residential premises. Therefore, it will be necessary to find non-residential premises for rent. Our experts can help you to find the right option for your budget.

You can also find non-residential premises yourself here:

Before you open a salon, you must go through the procedure for obtaining permission from health inspection services, registering in the tax and commercial register and registering your cash register.
STAGE 5. Taxes and reports
Individual entrepreneurs are required to report once a year by April 1 on their financial affairs. In Slovakia, there is an income tax, and it is 15%. You can do your own accounting or use the services of a professional. The usual cost of accounting services is 30 euros per month
