Rent-a-gent business in Slovakia

The mentality of people who live in the European countries is arranged in such a way that when something breaks at their home, they don’t try to repair it themselves. The first thing they do is call some rent-a-gent service and order needed services. And it can be absolutely any task: repairing plumbing or household appliances, inserting a lock, hanging cornices, installing doors, installing furniture, and even the most simple, like nailing a few shelves.

The rent-agent scheme is popular in all countries, but in European ones people seek such services much more often. Accordingly, if you are now earning money in your country by providing the rent-agent services, you can significantly increase your average check, receive regular orders, and most importantly, move to a European country. That is, to become a citizen of Europe, it is not necessary to be very smart or rich, it is enough to open your own business, even with small investments, and apply for a residence permit.

Stages of starting a business in Slovakia

We will describe the main stages that you need to go through to start your business in Slovakia and further develop it.
STAGE 1. Registering as an individual entrepreneur
As soon as you decide to move to Slovakia, you should first of all deal with the registration of individual entrepreneurship, as this will make it possible to apply for a residence permit, and, accordingly, legally work in the country.
To register an individual entrepreneur, you will need to collect a complete package of documents, which our specialist can tell you in more detail during a consultation. You must also have a legal address. This may be a rented office or a place where you will live upon arrival in Slovakia. Also, there is the option of renting an address, and our specialists can help with this.
Additional licenses and permits to carry out activities are not required.
STAGE 2. Obtaining a residence permit
After you receive an individual entrepreneur certificate, you can apply for a residence permit on the basis of doing business in Slovakia.
An employee of our company can help with the collection of documents, their translation into Slovak and other nuances. You can submit documents in your own country, they are accepted at the consulate of Slovakia.
However, you can come to Slovakia and submit documents to the immigration office.

Obtaining a residence permit provides many advantages:
  • travel within the Schengen area without visas
  • the opportunity to pick up their relatives under the family reunification program
  • after 10 years of residence in the country, you have the right to apply for citizenship
  • business expansion opportunities
  • free education in schools, colleges and universities
These are the main advantages, but living in Slovakia with a residence permit, you will see much more of them.
STAGE 3. Search for clients and development
After you have registered your business, received a residence permit and moved to Slovakia, you need to find clients. How to do it?

1. Register on all sites with announcements of the provision of services.
2. Maintain social networks and launch targeted advertising.
3. Print and post around the city advertisements for the provision of the rent-a-gent services.

It is very important that everything is in Slovak. Contact the translator to avoid mistakes.
STAGE 4. Overcoming the language barrier
It is recommended that you learn Slovak on basic level before moving to the country, so you can develop your business faster. You can learn a language both independently, with the help of various services, and with a tutor, or enroll in a language school.
STAGE 5. Hiring employees
In order to earn more and expand your business, you will need to hire employees. A useful site for finding employees is profesia.sk. If you want to hire foreign citizens, you must register with the Ministry of Labor and apply for open vacancies. The priority for employment is the Slovaks, if none of them goes to work for you, foreigners will be able to get this job.
STAGE 6. Accounting and taxes
You, as an individual entrepreneur, are required to pay income tax. It is paid once a year at a rate of 15%. Also, you need to keep accounts, and if you are not an expert in this, you should not even waste time trying to figure it out. Pay for the services of an outsourced accountant (about 30 euros per month), and develop your business without thinking about the need to submit reports on time.
Opening a rent-a-gent business is a profitable business, especially if it is a European country. Our specialists will be happy to help you with all the documents so that you can immigrate to Slovakia with your family, or alone.
